Remodeling for Central Florida homes, done right
Your home should fit the way you actually live. When the kitchen feels cramped, the bathroom is dated, or the family has simply outgrown the floor plan, a well-planned remodel turns the house you have into the one you want. True Builders is a family-owned, licensed Central Florida general contractor that has been remodeling homes across Polk, Hillsborough, and Pasco counties since 2009.
We handle full-service home remodeling under one roof: kitchens, bathrooms, room additions, and whole-home renovations. Because we are a self-performing general contractor with in-house design, our own showroom, and every trade on our team, one accountable group of people carries your project from the first sketch through the final walkthrough. No subcontractor finger-pointing, no chasing five different companies for one project.
We serve homeowners in Plant City, Lakeland, Tampa, Brandon, Winter Haven, Wesley Chapel, Zephyrhills, Davenport, Bartow, Auburndale, Haines City, and the surrounding communities. With 4.8 stars across more than 400 Google reviews and a place in the True family that has served over 100,000 customers, our license number CBC1258346 is backed by a long track record of doing right by our neighbors.
Signs It Is Time to Remodel Your Home
A remodel is rarely just about looks. Most homeowners reach out because the house has stopped working for them, and the right project solves both the function and the feel at the same time. If any of the following sound familiar, it may be time to talk through your options with a licensed contractor.
- The kitchen layout makes cooking and gathering frustrating, with too little counter or storage space
- Bathrooms feel dated, leak, or no longer suit how your family uses them
- You need more square footage but love your neighborhood and would rather add on than move
- Worn finishes, old cabinets, or original flooring make the whole home feel tired
- You are planning to sell and want updates that return real value at resale
- Your needs have changed and you want a more open, accessible, or single-level layout
What Our Full-Service Remodeling Covers
From a single room to the entire house, True Builders manages the complete scope so the finished result looks intentional and holds up to Central Florida living. Because the same team handles design, permitting, and construction, the details line up the way they should.
Whatever the project, we pull the proper permits, build to code, and keep every trade coordinated so the work moves in the right order without costly rework.
- Kitchen remodeling, including cabinets, countertops, islands, and full layout changes
- Bathroom remodeling, from walk-in showers and tubs to spa-style primary baths
- Home additions and bump-outs that expand your living space and add value
- Whole-home renovations that update finishes, flooring, and flow throughout
- Open-concept conversions that remove walls and reconfigure existing rooms
- In-house plumbing, electrical, carpentry, tile, and finish work under one team

In-House Design and a Real Showroom
Picking finishes from a tiny phone screen or a stack of samples is stressful, and it is where a lot of remodels go sideways. Our in-house design team and on-site showroom let you see and touch real options before anything is ordered, so your choices fit your budget, your style, and each other.
Walking the showroom with a designer who knows our pricing means fewer surprises later and a clear picture of how the finished space will come together.
- Cabinets, countertops, and hardware you can compare side by side in person
- Tile, flooring, fixtures, and lighting selected to work together as one design
- Layout and 3D planning help so you can picture the space before we build
- Material guidance suited to Florida humidity, durability, and easy upkeep
- Options at multiple price points so the design respects your budget
Our Remodeling Process From Design to Final Walkthrough
A good remodel runs on a clear plan, honest communication, and a team that shows up. Here is how a typical True Builders project moves from first conversation to the day you get your space back.
- Consultation. We meet at your home or in our showroom, learn your goals, and talk through budget and ideas.
- Design and selections. Our designers shape the layout and help you choose finishes, then we put together a detailed scope and quote.
- Permitting and scheduling. We pull the required permits and lock in a realistic timeline so you know what to expect.
- Construction. Our self-performing crews handle demolition and every trade in the right sequence, keeping the site organized and respected.
- Walkthrough and warranty. We review the finished work with you, handle any final touches, and stand behind the result.
Why Central Florida Homeowners Choose True Builders
When you hand someone the keys to your home, who they are matters. We are a family-owned company with deep roots in the area, and we treat every project like it is in our own neighborhood, because it usually is.
Look at our recent projects and our customer reviews before you decide, and meet the project managers and field crews on our team page. Once the remodel is done, True Home Membership is how a lot of our clients keep the house maintained without hunting for a contractor every time something goes wrong.

Timeline and What to Expect
Every remodel is different, so timelines depend on scope, selections, and permitting, but we give you a realistic schedule up front and keep you updated as the work moves. A bathroom refresh moves faster than a whole-home renovation, and we will be straight with you about what your project needs.
Bathrooms typically run two to four weeks once demolition starts. Kitchens run four to eight weeks. Whole-home renovations and additions run three months and up, and permitting adds time before any of that begins.
- Realistic timelines set during design, with regular updates as work progresses
- Bathroom: about 2 to 4 weeks. Kitchen: about 4 to 8 weeks. Whole home: 3 months and up
- Serving Plant City, Lakeland, Tampa, Brandon, Winter Haven, Wesley Chapel, Zephyrhills, Davenport, Bartow, Auburndale, Haines City, and nearby communities

What a Remodel Costs in the Lakeland and Tampa Market
Nobody publishes numbers on a remodeling site, which is why every homeowner starts the conversation guessing. Here is what published industry cost guides report for our market, so you can walk into a consultation knowing roughly where your project lands.
Kitchens: a cosmetic refresh, meaning new counters, paint, hardware, and maybe cabinet fronts on the existing layout, runs $8,000 to $18,000. A mid-range remodel with new cabinets and appliances runs $30,000 to $60,000. A full gut with a new layout runs $60,000 to $120,000 and up. Bathrooms in Lakeland average $7,484 to $10,335, with the full observed range from $3,204 to $15,590. A standard full bathroom remodel in the Tampa market runs $15,000 to $28,000. Moving a toilet, shower, or vanity drain adds $2,000 to $5,000 because the slab has to be opened.
Where a kitchen budget actually goes: cabinets take about 29 percent, installation labor about 17 percent, appliances about 14 percent, and countertops about 11 percent. Cabinets are the line item that moves the total, which is why we talk about the cabinet tier before anything else.
These are general market ranges compiled from published industry cost guides. They are not a True Builders quote. Your real number depends on scope, materials, and site conditions, and older Central Florida homes routinely turn up wiring, plumbing, or subfloor that has to be corrected. We put a fixed-scope number in writing after we see the space. Call (863) 647-1800 or Get a Quote.
- Kitchen cosmetic refresh: $8,000 to $18,000
- Kitchen mid-range remodel: $30,000 to $60,000

Remodeling in Lakeland and Plant City
Our headquarters is at 4000 N Frontage Rd in Plant City, and our Lakeland office is at 2829 Badger Rd #19. Between them we cover Polk, Hillsborough, and Pasco counties, and most of our work sits within thirty minutes of one of the two.
That matters more than it sounds. A 1970s Lakeland ranch and a 2005 Plant City build fail in different places, and knowing which one you have before demolition is how a schedule stays honest. We also pull permits through these county offices every week, so we know what each one wants to see and how long it takes.
- Plant City HQ and showroom: 4000 N Frontage Rd, Plant City FL 33565
- Lakeland office: 2829 Badger Rd #19
- Polk, Hillsborough, and Pasco county permitting handled in-house
- Also serving Tampa, Brandon, Winter Haven, Bartow, Auburndale, and Haines City

Financing Your Remodel
Most remodels do not get paid for out of a checking account, and waiting until you have the full amount saved usually means paying more later as material costs climb. Financing through our third-party lending partner turns the project into a fixed monthly payment. Checking your options uses a soft credit check, which does not affect your credit score.
Financing is subject to credit approval, and the terms depend on the lender, the amount requested, and your credit. For smaller projects we accept all major credit cards, so you do not have to set up financing for every job. Ask us which route makes sense for your scope.
- Fixed monthly payment instead of one large bill
- Soft credit check to see your options
- All major credit cards accepted on smaller projects
- Subject to credit approval through our third-party lending partner
License, Reviews, and Insurance

We have been family-owned and working in Central Florida since 2009.
Do the same check on every contractor you talk to. An unlicensed remodeler cannot pull a permit, which means unpermitted work you inherit at resale.
