Storm & Disaster Recovery for Central Florida homes, done right
A fire, a major storm, or a sudden disaster can turn the home you love into a job site overnight. In those first hours you do not need three different phone numbers. You need one licensed team that can secure the property, stop the damage from spreading, and rebuild everything back to the way it should be. That is exactly what True Builders does.
We are a family-owned, licensed Central Florida general contractor, GC license #CBC1258346, headquartered in Plant City and serving Lakeland, Tampa, Brandon, Winter Haven, Wesley Chapel, Zephyrhills, Davenport, Bartow, Auburndale, Haines City, and the surrounding Polk, Hillsborough, and Pasco county communities. Since 2009 we have handled storm and disaster recovery the full-service way, from emergency stabilization and cleanup through code-compliant reconstruction, so one accountable crew carries your home from the worst day to the final walkthrough.
With 24/7 emergency response, direct insurance coordination, and every trade under one roof, True Builders gives Central Florida homeowners a single point of contact when it matters most. Call (863) 647-1800 any hour, and a real team gets to work.
What To Do First After Fire or Disaster Damage
The first priority is always people, not property. Once everyone is safe and the authorities have cleared the scene, the next step is to limit how far the damage spreads, because soot, smoke, and standing water keep doing harm long after the event itself is over. The faster a home is stabilized, the less you ultimately have to rebuild.
Call True Builders right away and we will walk you through these first steps over the phone while our emergency crew heads your way.
- Get everyone out and account for pets, then call 911 if there is any active hazard
- Do not re-enter a fire-damaged or structurally compromised home until it is cleared
- Avoid touching soot-covered surfaces, since soot is acidic and spreads quickly
- Photograph the damage from a safe distance for your insurance file
- Call your insurer to open a claim, then call (863) 647-1800 for 24/7 emergency stabilization
24/7 Emergency Response and Property Stabilization
Disasters do not wait for business hours, and neither do we. True Builders offers round-the-clock emergency response across Central Florida, so when you call we move fast to secure the structure, keep weather and intruders out, and remove the water and debris that cause secondary damage. Stabilizing the property in those first hours protects what can still be saved and keeps your overall repair smaller and less expensive.
- Emergency board-up of doors, windows, and openings
- Roof tarping to keep rain and wind out of an exposed structure
- Water extraction and drying handed to True Plumbers at trueplumbers.com
- Temporary shoring of unstable framing and structures
- Securing the site against further loss or trespass
Our Storm & Disaster Recovery Process, Step by Step
Recovery feels less overwhelming when you know exactly what comes next. We follow a clear, proven process and keep you informed at every stage, with one dedicated project manager who knows your home and your claim from the first call onward.
- Emergency call and rapid response to secure and stabilize the property
- Full damage assessment and detailed documentation for your insurance
- Cleanup, debris removal, and soot and smoke remediation
- Approved scope and a realistic schedule reviewed with you and your insurer
- Code-compliant reconstruction, from framing and systems through finishes
- Final inspection and walkthrough so you sign off on a home that is truly whole again
From Cleanup to Complete Code-Compliant Rebuild
Many cleanup companies only handle mitigation, the cleanup and drying, and then hand you off to a separate contractor for the rebuild. That gap is where projects stall and details get lost. Because True Builders is a full-service, self-performing general contractor, we do both. We clean it up and we rebuild it, all the way to the finishes you pick out, with every trade working under one roof.
Every rebuild is brought up to current Florida building code, with permitting and inspections handled by us. For many homeowners, that means the restored space comes back not just repaired but genuinely better than before.
- Structural repair of framing, roofing, drywall, and flooring
- Reconstruction of kitchens, baths, and whole homes after major loss
- Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repaired and brought to code
- All permitting and inspections managed for you
- In-house design and a real showroom for selecting finishes and upgrades
Working Directly With Your Insurance
A disaster claim can feel like a second emergency on top of the first. We take that weight off your shoulders by documenting the damage thoroughly and coordinating directly with your insurance carrier from day one. Detailed photos, a clear scope of work, and accurate estimates help your claim move faster and protect you from paying for damage your policy should cover.
You stay informed and in control, while we handle the back-and-forth with the adjuster so the scope reflects everything your home actually needs.
- Thorough photo and written documentation of all damage
- A detailed, itemized scope of work for the adjuster
- Direct coordination with your carrier throughout the project
- Clear communication so you always know where the claim stands
- Financing available to bridge timing or cover items beyond the policy
Why One Licensed Central Florida Team Matters
When you are recovering from a disaster, the last thing you want is to manage a cleanup crew, a separate builder, a permit office, and an insurance adjuster all at once. True Builders is the single accountable team that handles every piece. As part of the True family that has served more than 100,000 customers, and with a 4.8 star rating across more than 400 Google reviews, we have built our reputation on showing up and following through when families need it most.
Owner and CEO Issac Turpin leads a company that has served Central Florida since 2009. One licensed crew, one point of contact, and no finger-pointing between contractors means a faster, calmer recovery for your family.
Whatever the event was, there is a crew for it: storm damage restoration for wind and hurricane losses, fallen tree damage repair when a trunk comes through the roof, fire damage restoration and smoke damage remediation after a fire, and complete loss fire rebuilds when the structure has to come down. Financing is available when the claim moves slower than the repair needs to.
